Position Summary: The main function of this position is to greet the guests, prepare them for their treatments, and deliver the treatments.  Practice client confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Greet all the guests in a friendly and pleasing manner. Perform all aspects of a Registered Massage Therapist in a professional, proficient and timely fashion keeping in mind the needs of the guests and the atmosphere of the Spa.

Accountabilities: The Massage Therapist is directly responsible for performing massage therapy manually with hands, stones, the hydrotherm system, hot towels, and products. To perform body treatments upon request.  Responsible for turning over the room and maintaining a clean and safe environment.  All massages are performed in a professional manner using property body mechanics to eliminate the chance of fatigue or injury.                      


Qualification Standards

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent certificate preferred
  • Previous customer service & hotel experience preferred
  • Massage Therapist License required


Tools & Equipment:

  • Computer, telephone, 2-way radios,
  • Towel warmer, hot stones and warmer, cleansers & oils
  • Other treatment-related accessories


Work Environment:

  • Under variable temperature conditions
  • Under variable noise levels
  • Outdoors/Indoors
  • Around chemicals, fumes and or odor hazards
  • Around dust and or mite hazards


Physical Requirements:

  • Long hours sometimes required
  • Must be able to move quickly and agilely if a situation requiring quick assistance arises
  • Medium work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist or reach with your body and arms
  • Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels


Mental Requirements:

  • Oral and Written Comprehension and Expression - Must be able to convey & understand information and ideas in English
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents
  • The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
  • Must be able to work with and understand basic arithmetic functions
  • Multilingual helpful


Duties & Functions


  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Interstate standards, as required by scheduling which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing the proper business attire and nametag when working
  • Comply at all times with Interstate standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Perform treatments to local SOPs
  • Be knowledgeable on products and services
  • Keep all areas clean and organized
  • Ensure guest towels and supplies are ready for guest use
  • Promote and sell spa/salon service and retail products
  • Escort guests to and from treatment areas
  • Listen to guest needs to provide services to exceed expectations
  • Ensures safety regulations are followed
  • Report any guest incidents
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or hotel management
  • Keep immediate supervisors fully informed of all challenges or matters requiring his/her attention



  • Other duties as required
  • Participate in all hotel and departmental meetings as requested

*$200.00 Hiring bonus to be paid after successful completion of 90 days of employment
